If you are inpatient, you may request a kosher menu. Please ask your nurse to print one of, if you are in Mott/Von Voigtlander, you may call x23663. If you are in the Adult Hospital, you may call x38080. Meals can be ordered at any time during hours of operation (see menu). Meals can be ordered in advance if needed.

There are kosher cabinets located in both chapels: Delores Sonderquist Brehm Chapel in University Hospital and the Mike and Helen Vlasic Family Chapel in Mott. Both are accessible 24 hours a day and are stocked by Bikur Cholim of Detroit. Of note, there are no explicit religious symbols in the chapels.

The Department of Spiritual Care includes a rabbi on staff. If you have any needs or would like to speak with a chaplain, please call 734-936-4041 during business hours. For urgent needs, please call the hospital operator at 734-936-4000 and ask them to page the on call chaplain.

We are able to assist with a variety of needs to prepare for Shabbat. Please contact Spiritual Care (above) to assist with items such as turning off automatic toilets and motion detected lights (primarily in Mott), arranging for staircase use, etc, and we will gladly coordinate with the relevant hospital staff.
